How does this grant work?
Stage 1
- The NSW government will subsidise the cost of an EV charging feasibility assessment. The cost to the applicant will be $2,000 ex-GST. The NSW Government will cover the remainder of the fee
- The feasibility assessment will be conducted by an independent consultant selected by the NSW Government
- The apartment can use an existing feasibility assessment
- Requires the building to have less than 10% of apartments with existing EV charging
- Must implement upgrades that can be accessed by all residents
- Available to all Class 2 apartments with more than 10 units
Stage 2
- The NSW Government will co-fund 80% (up to $80,000 ex-GST) towards eligible electrical infrastructure and building upgrade projects
- The NSW Government will co-fund 50% (up to $1,200 ex-GST) towards eligible software subscriptions for 2 years
- Can include up to 4 AC EV chargers per site in common parking spots
- The apartment will need to provide 2 commercial quotes for the electrical infrastructure works
- Requires evidence of owners corporation approval
- Works need to be completed in line with the feasibility study
- Can only service residential areas
- Software cofounding only covers communal bays
