The mission
SIXT embarked on a mission to transition 50% of its fleet to electric vehicles within five years of launch, aiming to provide a seamless and sustainable customer experience for EV rentals. To achieve this ambitious goal, they needed a reliable partner who could assess power constraints, design custom solutions, and support their journey to EVs. They also recognised the importance of having a wide range of charging products, both AC and DC, to cater to different vehicle models and charging needs. Moreover, efficient charging infrastructure and data analysis capabilities were essential to optimise their fleet’s charging behaviour and minimise idle times.

Presently, EVSE Australia has successfully deployed EV Charging solutions at 17 sites, and further developments, including a new site in Hobart, are already in progress. The Hardware
The Ocular Charging range provided the perfect solution for the business’s needs, offering a wide range of products, including AC and DC chargers at various price points, all known for their exceptional reliability. Having both AC and DC charging options proved crucial for ensuring all vehicles were fully charged before the next customer. The Ocular range from EVSE Australia provides staff with direct feedback on the charging session through an inbuilt LCD screen, ensuring reliable charging experience.
By delivering an enjoyable charging experience, electric vehicles could effectively compete with traditional internal combustion engines, encouraging wider adoption of eco-friendly transportation options. EVSE provided Ocular IQ commercial chargers to the majority of the 17 sites due to their versatility. We have also installed a 60kW Ocular Titan charger to meet the fast-charging needs of their business.
The Software
The implementation of Exploren Software was crucial for SIXT to gain valuable insights into the charging behaviour of their fleet vehicles. This data-driven approach empowered SIXT to analyse and understand the charging patterns, enabling them to optimise their charging sessions and reduce idle times effectively.
