How South Bowlo Improved Visitor Experience and Moved Towards Sustainability with EVSE
Charging the Future: EVSE Powers Sydney Trains EV Transition
Sydney Trains is dedicated to fostering a greener future for the community. With trains already among the lowest-emission transport options per person, they aimed to further their environmental commitment by integrating KIA electric vehicles into their fleet. To support this transition, EVSE Australia is proud to provide and install advanced EV charging systems designed for efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
The Solution: Modular and Future-Ready Charging Infrastructure
Selecting the right EV charging solutions provider was a critical decision for Sydney Trains. They required a trusted partner who could not only deliver a scalable system but one who could provide support for their long-term vision with the flexibility to expand as their EV fleet grows. EVSE stepped up to the challenge by providing a comprehensive, future-proof charging solution for both their present and future needs, featuring:
- Ocular Titan 60kW DC Charger – delivering rapid charging capability
- 2 x Ocular IQ Dual Port 22kW AC Chargers – enabling multiple simultaneous charging sessions
- Total combined power of 148kW – ensuring efficient energy distribution
This state-of-the-art charging setup allows Sydney Trains’ KIA EV6 fleet to charge at an impressive rate of 360km of range per hour with the DC charger and 60km per hour with the AC units.
Sustainability at the Core
A standout feature of this installation is its commitment to longevity and environmental responsbility.
The modular design of the Ocular charging hardware ensures that all components can be replaced over time, extending the lifespan of the chargers and ensuring Sydney Trains fleet remains operational. Any replaced parts are then sent to specialised e-waste recycling services, reinforcing EVSE’s dedication to reducing waste and supporting a circular economy.
Built for the Future
Beyond meeting current charging needs, the infrastructure has been designed with scalability in mind. Transport for NSW’s charging system includes provisions to expand up to 350kW of total charging power, ensuring it can grow alongside the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in the fleet.
Driving Sydney Train's Vision
EVSE Australia is proud to support this transition, providing cutting-edge EV charging solutions that not only improve the operational efficiency but lead a path to a more sustainable transport network. By providing scalable and future-proof infrastructure, EVSE empowers government and commercial fleets to confidently embrace the electric transition, ensuring reliability flexibility, and long-term sustainability.
