I purchased this charger for my new MG4 which I’ve had for a few weeks now, it has performed very well. I preferred the idea of having a portable charger rather than a built-in charger, I have a 3-phase socket in the garage so chose the 5-pin tail. I have a 5 kW solar power system so I have been selecting a preferred charge rate between 8-24A to fit in with other household needs, so far I have been able to make use of low-cost solar electricity for virtually 100% of my car charging. EVSE also answered my questions promptly prior to purchase. Great experience so far.

We’re very happy with the KWIK portable 32amp charger. We had a new garage built and got 32 amp single phase power connected to it. This can charge at 8, 15, 20, 24 and 32 amps, so I just set the amperage depending on the current/expected solar output (7kW system). It’s not a smart charger but for the price it’s great. No installation cost and we can take it with us if we move.
For the reference of potential purchasers, the BYD Atto 3 charges at the following (approximate) rates: 8A – 1.3kW, 15A – 2.9kW, 20A – 4.3 kW, 24A – 5kW, 32A – 6.9kW
