Powering the Shift to Electric Machinery with Smart Charging Solutions: CJD Equipment
Overview

The Marriott Hotel Brisbane, a stunning 5-star destination in the heart of Queensland’s capital, is renowned for its luxury, sophistication, and exceptional guest experience. Continuing its commitment to customer service, the hotel has introduced a highly requested amenity for its guests: convenient and reliable EV charging.
With a growing number of guests arriving in electric vehicles, providing EV charging was a natural extension of Marriott’s focus on guest comfort. The charging service is fully integrated into the hotel’s valet experience; guests simply arrive, hand over the keys, and leave knowing their EV will be fully charged and ready to explore the local Brisbane area or for the journey home. This service offers peace of mind and reinforces the hotel’s reputation for delivering effortless luxury.
The Project

Working closely with Marriott’s team, EVSE’s local Brisbane experts designed a tailored solution to meet both guest expectations and site requirements. The installation featured two 22kW Ocular IQ Wallboxes, powered by Exploren software. This setup enables most vehicles to recharge in just a few hours, allowing staff to efficiently rotate and charge multiple guest vehicles throughout the day. Exploren provides robust remote monitoring and support, ensuring the EV charging experience meets the exceptional standards of Marriott hospitality.
The project was completed in December 2023, just in time for the holiday season. Since then, the chargers have delivered over 3,000 kWh of energy to guests – equivalent to around 20,000 km of driving, or more than four and a half trips between Brisbane and Perth.
Results and Community Impact
As EV adoption accelerates, premium accommodation providers like Marriott are leading the way by offering essential charging services. By investing in the right infrastructure, they not only enhance the guest experience but also position themselves as forward-thinking destinations for the modern traveller.
