The MG4 comes in five variants: the Excite 51, Excite 64, Essence 64, long range and Xpower. This choice allows buyers to select between a more affordable option with a shorter range or a higher-end model with extended driving capabilities. The long-range version is particularly impressive, featuring a 74.4kWh lithium-ion battery that provides up to 530 kilometres of emission-free driving on a single charge. This range is ideal for both daily commutes and longer journeys.

For charging, the MG4 – Excite 51 supports 125kW fast charging, which can boost the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 37 minutes – perfect for quick stops during longer trips. For optimal convenience, a 7kw AC charger is recommended, reducing the full charge time to approximately seven and a half hours. Fast charging is crucial for electric vehicle owners, especially those with daily driving needs exceeding 80 kilometres, as standard wall chargers may be too slow for frequent use.
