Tesla Australia rival Faraday Future unveils electric concept car

The car named “FFZERO1”, is a race car that boasts more than 1,000 horsepower and can go from zero to 60 in under 3 seconds. It features four motors, one at each wheel, and can reach a top speed of 321km/ per hour.

One of the really neat innovations with this car is that it is highly connected and able to learn about individual drivers habits and preferences so that it will automatically adjust to suit the specific driver.

This car would not look out of place in Gotham City with Bruce Wayne behind the wheel

While the company does have plans to put electric cars on the road by 2020, this concept dubbed “the batmobile” by many will not likley see the road. The FFZER01 basically represents a completley mental version of the mass produced electric cars that the company plans to release to the market in it’s production models.

With only one seat, your friends will be relegated to watching from the sidelines

One of the key take aways of the design is Faraday Future’s Variable Platform Architecture (VPA) which serves as a modular engineering system specifically designed for electric cars, which can be easily adjusted to form the basis of all future models.

The way the batteries are lined up and the length of the chasis will allow Farady Future to modify each indivudal models range and capacity by adding or deleting rows (strings) of battery packs.

This means that Faraday future will be able to develop future designs both quickly and efficiently, using the VPA as a base.

Whilst Tesla Australia is probably not too worried, as they are alot further along the path to mass production than Faraday Future, it is still exciting nonetheless to see another company looking to push the boundaries and innovation in the electric car market.
